When a public person/official chooses to use their religion as a qualifying factor for their overall popularity, it also makes it possible to use it for a disqualifying factor. Mike Huckabee, former governor of the state of Arkansas, has done this very thing and I will take him and his religion to task in this post.
Mike Huckabee is no Christian! There, I said it, now all of his zealot followers can send me all the hate mail they want, but it will not change the truth. Mike Huckabee is only a Christian in the sense that he uses the name Jesus Christ in his profession of faith. However, I can say with confidence that he does not know the Man that he professes to follow. Not bad either, I am sure he has made a lot of money from his preaching activities, and we all know that he has gathered a tight following across the country, all without knowing the Man.
I will post an essay on Christianity in a following post that strongly supports my claims that he is not a Christian because he doesn't know Christ. For the remainder of this post I would like to argue that he (Hukster) is prostituting his faith to get gain.
Would anyone who truly finds value in something throw it around with the same eagerness that Huckabee does? He doesn't profess his faith publicly to show how faithful he is, he does it to try to tug at the emotional strings of millions of other, hoping to get a response in his favor. His religion is no more important to him than any other political stance he may have. If it was, he would treat it with reverence and not throw it around like rice at a wedding.
Huckabee, like most politicians, employees hate and fear to create a feeling of despair and hopelessness. Once the target feeling there is no hope, he valiantly offers them his solution, the only way to hope. Obama does this with black Americans by making them feel less worthy than white Americans before telling them that together they can be more worthy. Hillary tells people that she is the only one that can ensure that their freedom to be individuals will not be taken away. Huckabee, worst of all in my opinion, uses God and people's faith to do the same thing. He uses hate and prejudice to incite feelings of distrust and loathing against anyone that is not from his crowd.
Shame on you Governor Huckabee! God is not a tool for you to use to get your own personal gain and power! I truly believe that you only care about your faith as long as it will get you what you want. Otherwise, it would not be a tool to use against people like Giuliani, Romney and Thompson because of their faith, or lack of faith. But is it really a lack of faith on their part, or do they just wish to keep it a sacred, and treasured part of their person. After all, this is the race for Commander in Chief, not Pastor in Chief.

Say What?
The What you Say?
How can Christians not be Christians? Well, we are all humans, but we are not all humane. So I guess what I mean is something similar to this. Not all Christians (nouns) are Christians (adjectives).
There are plenty of rants out there talking about how bad Christians are to one another, or to others from different religions and the writers of those works do a good enough job of chronicling that I do not need to. Instead, I will be discussing the reasons that I do not believe that the majority of today's Christian churches or church goers are truly disciples of Christ.
